There are more than 100 different types of arthritis. The most common forms of arthritis include, osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), fibromyalgia and gout. You can also get Arthritis from infection. This type of Arthritis is often known as septic arthritis which is initiated by a fungus or virus that enters the body and causes inflammation. Some of the diseases that can cause infectious arthritis include Shigella, Salmonella, Chlamydia and hepatitis C.

Arthritis is a common disease that results from the degenerative changes in the organism that generally surface in the second half of life as part of the aging process. Arthritis includes 100s of different ailments. It’s a chronic disease that is inevitable for some people as they grow older. Although arthritis is thought to be a disease of 55-60 years old and older, you’ll be amazed to learn that it can affect people of tender age and sometimes, its symptoms can be noticeable in children. The manifestation of the degenerative is usually noticed through joint pain, swelling, stiffness, mobility problems, muscle pain and inflammation. People who have arthritis often find it difficult to do everyday tasks. Many medications and ointments have been prescribed for the treatment but in the long run, they only cure the symptoms and reduce the pain but their activeness is always temporary, and they do not work for everyone.

For the past few years, marijuana has become famous in the countries where it’s legalized as a supplement among people suffering from arthritis and drastically, the number of patients who want to try marijuana has increased for many reasons. Inflammation of the joint tissue is the major cause of arthritis and marijuana is said to have contained chemical components THC and CBD that are great fighters of inflammation and pain.

The usefulness of marijuana was first appreciated when researchers discovered that the joints of arthritis patients have high levels of CB1 receptors. THC in marijuana doesn’t only enhance the activation of those receptors but also reduces pain and inflammation which are major symptoms of disease. It was also discovered that CBD is very effective in treating disease symptoms without any side-effects.

More research was conducted, and it was discovered that high CBD marijuana is great for arthritis treatment as it’s capable of pain relief. This has led to the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes in many countries. 30 states of the United State have legalized marijuana for medical use and testimonies of its effectiveness in treating arthritis can be seen almost anywhere including hospitals that specialize in treating arthritis and the internet.

Cause of Arthritis:

Doctors don’t know what causes some forms of arthritis, but according to some studies these factors may increase your chances of getting it:

  • Genes

Rheumatoid arthritis has been linked to Genes. It can be inherited along with other specific forms of Arthritis.

  • Gender

Statistics have shown recently that women are more prone to having arthritis. 60% of people with arthritis are women although gout is more popular with men.

  • Age

As you get older your bones and joints start to break down. It is recommended that you exercise regularly as a precaution.

  • Injuries

Nobody plans to get injured, but Injuries can cause damage to your joints that can lead to Specific forms of arthritis.

  • Obesity

Osteoarthritis (OA) has been linked with people that our overweight. It has been estimated that about 350 million people around the world struggle daily with obesity. Half of that amount is struggling from some sort of health problem, and more than 30 million struggle with arthritis. Extra weight can often cause arthritis in the joints because of added stress. Joint stress causes the arthritis, especially on weight-bearing joints, such as the knees and the hips.

Every pound of extra weight adds 4 pounds of pressure on the knees. A person who’s 100 pounds overweight has 400 pounds of added pressure on his knees. So if you think about all the steps you take in a day, you can see why it would lead to premature damage in weight-bearing joints.

That’s the reason overweight people are at greater risk of developing arthritis in the first place. Once a person has arthritis, “the added weight causes even more problems on already damaged joints.

It’s not just added weight on joints that causes damage. The fat itself is active tissue that creates and releases chemicals, many of which promote inflammation.

These chemicals can cause OA to develop. This effect can be seen in a ton of studies that have linked extra weight to hand OA. Obviously, you don’t walk on your hands, so there may be something that is produced by fat cells in the body that causes a joint to break down more rapidly than it might otherwise.

For both reasons – extra joint stress and inflammatory chemicals – fat should be kept in check among all people, especially those who already have OA.
